Tom Wennekes is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Steve Withers at the Department of Chemistry, The University of British Columbia. He received his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Science at Leiden University in 2008, for his research on inhibitors of glycosidases and glycosyltransferases involved in glycosphingolipid metabolism performed under the supervision of Prof. Hermen Overkleeft and Prof. Hans Aerts. As of November 2010 he will join the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry at Wageningen University as an assistant professor in Synthetic Bio-organic Chemistry and Chemical Biology.
