Eduardo Moreno earned his BSc degree in Biology from the University of La Laguna, Spain. He then gained experience in environmental consultancy and later ventured into the field of communication in Japan and Korea. Returning to his biology roots, he pursued an MSc degree in Bioinformatics at DTU, Denmark. His master's thesis focused on the discovery, characterisation and engineering of GH20 lacto-N-biosidases.

Currently, he is immersed in his doctoral programme within the Enzyme Discovery group of DTU’s Bioengineering department, under the supervision of Professors Bernard Henrissat and Anne S. Meyer. His research has resulted in the expansion of families GH123 and GH119 through experimental characterisation of phylogenetically proximal sequences.
